What Success Means to Me

Updated: Aug 26, 2019

Everyone strives for a successful career and many fulfill their dreams. One cannot compare oneself with colleagues, friends or national/international successful individuals, because every career path is unique. We are the sum of our personal beliefs, experiences, educational backgrounds and plans, whether personal or professional. You won't find two similar career paths in the world.

How I see my professional success is a subjective way of thinking because I don't compare myself with the top performers in the IT recruitment industry. What I believe success means to me is enjoying the entrepreneur I have become, appreciating the great opportunity to use only the recruitment techniques I consider effective and enjoy working with. I measure my own success only comparing it to my past performance.

I work independently, but sometimes I look for help when it comes to understanding IT technologies. A look inside is always helpful and happy for me, there are many people out there who are willing to support others who have a growth mentality. I always acknowledge people that help me and believe that respect is a two-way street.

One of my greatest battles was to lose my negative attitude. I am a born pessimist and have taught myself what it means to run a business, deal with rejections or address difficult personalities. There are worst problems in the world or in life than having a bad working day. There is also helpful content regarding this topic all across the internet and I wish that many people realize that negativity is a barrier.

For the first time in my life, I enjoy my professional status and love my work. I am very committed to my business and I can’t stop developing strategies and improving myself every day. As an employee, I have never noticed that there is another side to the coin. I listen to the needs of my clients and candidates, support them as best I can and their feedback is more valuable than any other assessment of my former bosses.
